Who is 'us'?  It might bother some of 'us', but the people that it
bothers the most are the people who have experienced the bug.  They are
also the most qualified/motivated to find out what the problem is and
potentially find a fix.

One of those people that fits the description of 'us' would be *you*,
wouldn't it, given that you have a need, a desire to see it fixed, and
all the resources necessary.  You've got SSH2 and CVS installed on your
box, and are using them (attempting to anyway).
