I had the same problem with my S3 board, so the pcvt distribution contains
a clock-set program which (re)programs the clock chip. This program was
ripped off XFree86, i suggest you do the same for your clock chip. Have a
look at /usr/src/usr.sbin/pcvt/set2061. It would be nice if the Xserver
would contain a hook to let programs like this run automatically.
