Not currently.  There have been some rumblings regarding getting such a 
system together, though, but don't hold your breath.

That is perfectly normal.  If you really can't put up with it, edit 
.cshrc or .profile (depending on your shell) and modify the path to put 
the current directory '.' in there.  DO NOT DO THIS FOR ROOT, IT IS A 
SECURITY HAZARD.

Hm.  Does it just copy the files from the CD to the appropriate DOS 
dirs?  I can see that as useful.
