Sorry, but I have the same at FreeBSD. Install diablo-jdk, install  
eclipse, install some plugins (subclipse, Calisto(JSP,XML,...)) by the  
Eclipse update stuff and I'm developing with this for quite some time now.
What problems do you see? Stacktraces? Crashes?
