Just an observation.  It seems that Aaron first installed RELENG_4,
just like me and he started having problems.  Then, he installed
RELENG_4_5 and the problem went away.  It seems possible that
something got introduced into the RELENG_4 branch which is causing
this problem.  RELENG_4_5, being farther from the bleeding edge,
predates the problem.
