Hi,

I use imwheel-0.9.9 with FreeBSD R4.4 and R4.5 STABLE and it works fine,
not only for KDE.
Dit you have changed your /etc/XF86Config file:

...
Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier  "Mouse0"
        Driver      "mouse"
        Option      "Protocol" "auto"
        Option      "Device" "/dev/mouse"
        Option      "Buttons" "5"
        Option      "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection
....
