To update the system in my /etc/make.conf among other building(-world)
options I put
a:

NO_RESCUE= true

Which actually is not declared
neither in the man page of make.conf nor in the
/usr/share/examples/etc/make.conf file.
Nonetheless it seems to work.
Am I right?
Vittorio
