another solution if you want resp. need palm-support:

if installed, deinstall the old gnome1-versions of gnomepilot-conduits
and gnomepilot

then add WITH_GNOME_DESKTOP=2 to /etc/make.conf 

now you should be able to install evolution with palm-support.
