I installed this package on my fresh BSD installation, but have not been successful using it. My BSD is: FreeBSD sa1.hfd.com 4.3-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.3-RELEASE #0: Sat Apr 21 10:54:49 GMT 2001 jkh@narf.osd.bsdi.com:/usr/src/sys/compile/GENERIC i386 The package was obtained from: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-4.3-stable/All/apache+ssl-1.3.12.1.40.tgz The first problem I had was a missing or ill-named config file: sa1# /usr/local/sbin/httpsdctl start fopen: No such file or directory httpsd: could not open document config file /usr/local/etc/apache/httpd.conf /usr/local/sbin/httpsdctl start: httpd could not be started I made a link from the missing config filename to the httpds.conf and tried again: sa1# cd /usr/local/etc/apache/ sa1# ln -s httpsd.conf.default httpd.conf sa1# /usr/local/sbin/httpsdctl start /usr/local/sbin/httpsdctl start: httpd could not be started I searched for an error.log file but couldn't find one: sa1# find / -name 'error.log' -print At this point, I'm going to pass on using this package. I have sent this information to you hoping that it can improve the next release. -Chuck To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-ports" in the body of the message
