I think you may not have fully downloaded the distfile.  Using a
ports tree from 5 minutes ago, it all works here:
1022546 bytes transferred in 25.3 seconds  (39.43 Kbytes/s)
===>  Extracting for ssh-1.2.27
>> Checksum OK for ssh-1.2.27.tar.gz

Delete ssh-1.2.27.tar.gz from /usr/ports/distfiles and try again.
