I just checked what happens in the install boot disk, and I get the following: ata0 at port 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 irq 14 on isa0 ata1 at port 0x170-1x177,0x376 irq 15 on isa0 and it recognizes the two ad devices: ad0: 1033MB <WDC AC31000F> [2100/16/63] at ata0-master BIOSPIO ad1: 4112MB <WDC AC14300R> [8912/15/63] at ata0-slave BIOSPIO acd0: CDROM <E-IDE CD-ROM CR-840S> at ata1-slave BIOSPIO hmmm.... any ideas?
