OK, as I never have used it, in a hurry answering I did not remember that
there is some user-ppp stuff.

Roberto should have a look into the user-ppp directory inside the i4b
distribution. Maybe someone else having experiences with that can help him.

I usually find one B-channel enough for me, as I do not regularly use 
Windows ;-), and sppp works for me without any flaws, so I do not see
why to change.
