Probably the partition you are trying to mount is bigger than 1gb or it has
cluster of 32kb.

I suggest you to NOT USE such partition, you can trash a lot of your
filesystem.
Avoid to mount it, and if it is set in the /etc/fstab remove the entry or
use the noauto setting.

If you want to use msdos fs with FreeBSD you must use partition that use
clusters of 16kb or less. I have no problems at all with those, while I
have trashed a lot of times my Hd using dos partition with clusters of 32kb
:-)
