Without more details of the problem, it's impossible to know what's
giving you grief.  Some possibles :

Have you added FreeBSD to the bootmangler menu?  (Use OS/2's fdisk for this).
Is the FreeBSD root filesystem on an IDE disk, and beyond the 500M mark?
Are you using "Disk Manager" or some other IDE "disk driver" software?
