There are http mirrors, but I've lost the bookmark and a quick google search
didn't turn up anything obvious (other than the handbook entries indicating
mirrors are available). Hopefully someone else will have a url handy.

Good luck, I'm sure you'll enjoy using FreeBSD (especially compared to the
confusion and chaos of the Linux world).
