Hi Mark,
   Don't understand your reply here..,

I've run make buildword after running cvsup stable-supfile..,

Should I now have a new kernel for the next step (configure and compile
a new kernel)?

*This* is the point of my query., I know the procedure for upgrading
from source.., I am concerned that it appears that I have not got a new
GENERIC kernel to begin with after the make buildworld step.
