Sigh - Sorry, I deleted the original question before I replied to it.
Somebody asked about X servers for Windows 95.  I've played around with the
demonstration versions of quite a few of them.

Do a search for "X server" at http://www.shareware.com/, for instance.

Hummingbird (http://www.hummingbird.com/).  You can request an evaluation
copy of it from their Web site.
