I was remembering from such a book I have had for reading a couple a years ago. :) The COW comes from the complex :) Mach VM. So FreeBSD have had COW (at least in theory) years before 1993 and actually not after Win/NT, since the first mostly running Win/NT release may well have been the Beta-March 93. G=E9rard.
