I have set up a tape drive, correctly I believe, yet I keep getting
"device not configured" errors from it.  See:

Some have said that this error indicates no tapes in the drive, but the
drive does have tapes in it.  What else could it indicate?  I tried
reading the source, but I found it beyond me.
