Kindly reply ASAP > as I have to make a quick decision regarding OS to choose. you're in luck. java support just got a lot better only about a month ago thanks to damon parmezel, nate williams and others. i've found that the current port of jdk 1.1.5 is very stable, and we recently switched one of our machines used primarily for java development off of solaris x86 to fbsd with no problems to date. more info: http://www.freebsd.org/java/ also, if you keep your ports dir up-to-date, you can just run make install in the jdk port ($PORTS/lang/jdk/) > Can I also get answers to the following? > > 1) Contact person/phone# for FreeBSD?
