Right above the CFLAGS comment in make.conf it says "please revert any
nonstandard optimization settings to "-O" before submitting bug reports
to the developers."  Please do so, I think you XFree86-libraries will be
fixed after reverting that.  Also, this absolutely should have been in
the PR that you sent.
