A while back there was a Wired article regarding I2O. It described some anti-I2O sentiment by free software advocates, claiming it wasn't open. The article even had a link to a publicly available spec, but it was only there for a few days. I still have a copy stashed away at my ftp site if anyone is interested: ftp://ftp.pcnet.com/users/eischen/I2O/ver1-5.pdf.gz A quick search of the FreeBSD archives will give you the link to the [almost] original Wired article.
