It has some advantage if you want to append to the CDROM later. With ISO you have to start a new session, and there are only so many sessions possible, and every session wastes space for housekeeping information. UDF is better suited in this case (i.e. if you are continuing a CDROM). I learned about UDF when I was unable to read a CDROM with FreeBSD. This ROM had been burned at a Windows system, with the Software included in HP's CD writer. Well, it turned out this software wrote UDF, not ISO9660. There was an article about the UDF format in C'T Magazin, a popular German computer magazine. That's where I got my knowledge from. Regards, Georg-W.
