Subject: Diskless Router - is it possible

All,

I want to build a high performance IP router using
FreeBSD and Zebra (maybe gated as a backup if I hit
trouble with Zebra). One criterion for this design is
to avoid having to use a hard drive (reduce power,
make it easier to harden the hardware).

So, has anyone any experiance of diskless FreeBSD, or
maybe using a small ammount of FLASH for the boot up
and config and then using a RAM drive from then on,
and booting most stuff off a network. Clearly there
are a few ideas here.

Has anyone any experience of pushing FreeBSD really
very hard indead when routing?

This could be a really cool project if ti happens :-)
