What are the minimum system files I have to backup to be able
to recover from a crash and still have the same users and passwords
as I had before?

What I have done in the past is this?

Backup all of /, /var, /usr

When I have had to restore, such as onto a new diskdrive, I have restored
everything except /dev and a few etc files.

This works, but there has to be an easier quicker way.

What is the minimum list of system files that I would need?

Thanks,
 Mike
