Unpack the parts you're interested in into /usr/X11R6.  Then
extract /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/pkgreg.tar.gz into / and you'll
have a faked registration.  Sysinstall does this automatically
itself, but if you're upgrading by hand then you have to do this
by hand as well. :|
