This is for Swan Systems, www.swansystems.com. The short job description is this: We're looking for an excellent experienced UNIX admin with a clue to work with and share the workload with our other excellent experienced UNIX admin who also have a clue. Swan is a small company that's been around for about two years. You could call us a "startup" but I like to think we have the best of both astartup and older companies. We work hard but we also attempt to work 8 hour days so we have hope of a life outside of work. - we're a cool company - our product kicks butt - small but stable, no growing pains here - excellent funding - good pay - good benefits - stock options - your idea count. We're small enough that anyone with good ideas gets listened to. - comfy Aeron chairs - your co-workers are really with it - tons of great places to eat nearby We're located in San Francisco on market street, right next to BART and other forms of public transportation. We're also very bike friendly as we're the only tenant in the building that's allowed to have bikes inside. We even have a bike rack that's usually packed. We're mostly linux right now, due to legacy, but the FreeBSD fans (myself included) are working to get the system running mostly on FreeBSD for reasons I'm sure you understand. I will be at BSDCon so if you're heading there this year and would like to talk more send me some email. Here's the employment blurb from our webpage. Don't worry much about specifics. If you have a clue and have done the internet hosted services thing before we're interested. Internet Systems Architect: Swan Systems is looking for an Internet Systems Architect to play a key role in the continuing design and implementation of our infrastructure as an Application Service Provider.
