I'm not totally sure about this, but are you sure that you need to logon
twice? Try commenting out the accpet chap, also try adding "set openmode
active"? Here's what mine looks like for a chap login..
global:

 accept chap
 deny pap
 set phone 1231234
 set authname name
 set authkey password
 set openmode active
 set ifaddr 209.6.64.1/0 209.6.64.59/0 255.255.255.0
 add 0 0 209.6.64.59
