It is true that all software has bugs and security holes. However, installing stuff with known security holes which can be exploited by unknowedgeable trespassers is a bad idea! For example, there are folks out there just scanning for old versions of QPopper so that they can pounce on systems as soon as they find them. I don't want to expose folks to that. Yes, there may be bugs in the newer stuff as well.
