Use the "-P" option to CVS to prune "empty" (gone to the attic)
directories (NOTE: will delete things that I personally don't want
deleted out of my tree, like LFS!!!).

Save the output of a CVS update.  The files which are "not in the tree"
will show up with "?" to the left of them.
