Of course, I also had a slightly ulterior motive IIRC 2.11BSD has been patched up until 2000 or 1999 (and patches may still be coming out for all I know)... it's amazing how much longevity the PDP 11 has had, and particularly BSD on PDP 11. I think 2.11 BSD came out at the same time as 4BSD... I am probably wrong? Time to check a quarter century of unix, or history of unix @ berkeley.
