Huh?  This isn't the problem so much as DOS-C doesn't support the 
concept of anything other than block-addressed media.  You can't tell 
it about a drive that doesn't exist as a BIOS device, so you can't 
catch file operations on such a device (because it doesn't exist).

The DOS emulation that doscmd does is at a *much* higher level.
"embedding" a DOS kernel wouldn't help much there at all - you'd just 
about have to gut it completely to make it worthwhile.
