I like having a separate /tmp. / can then be 50 or 60 Mb. But,
particularly, a 300Mb /var depends heavily on what the machine is being
used for. It could well languish with 290 Mb free for some kinds of
servers, and particularly for desktop machines.

/usr and /home, please. :-) That's our default.
