We recently installed 2 x235 servers. Although these are NOT destined
for any BSD installs 8-(, I did look at the bus structure. There is 1
non-PCI64 slot, closest to the PSU. I had to install an Adaptec 2944UW
(HVDS) card and this is the only slot that would accept it. We got
lucky! I'm not sure this applies to your x series, but take a closer
look.
