Hi all,

I've gotten FreeBSD 3.1 up & running great on my new TP600E.
But there's one problem: I need to use the on-board serial
port (DB9) & at boot it's turned off. There's a W98
"Thinkpad Config" program which somehow enables the serial
port & other similar things. Does anyone know about a utility
I can use under FreeBSD which would allow me to turn this port on?

Extra info: The DB9 port is turned *off* at reset. This verified
via an RS-232 datascope. ie the TD line goes to zero volts at reset
(not +12 or -12) & stays there until the W98 pgm is run to enable it.

Thanks in advance.

Kent

PS Pls respond directly as I'm off the list while travelling abroad.
