Depending on whom you ask, "Berkely Standard Distribution" or "Berkely
Software Distribution". The latter is canonical AFAIK.

For more information on the history of the BSDs, see for instance
/usr/share/misc/bsd-family-tree or some of the papers under
/usr/share/doc/{papers,psd,smm,usd}
