Okay, after several tries, I finally got KDE4 updated. Now, however, it will
not start. I am receiving this message after typing "startx" from the
command line:

Exec: /usr/local/kde4/bin/startkde4: not found

Now, I did locate "startkde4" in "/usr/local/bin". How do I get "startx" to
look in that location?

Entering "/usr/local/bin/startkde4" from the command line elicits this error
message:

$DISPLAY is not set or cannot connect to the X server.

I would welcome any suggestions. It took me three tries to get the update
completed. I had to set: "GLES=off" in the /x11/kde4-workspace" port just
to get it to compile. There should have been a note in UPDATING regarding
this known problem. Now all I want is to get KDE4 to run. I must be a
masochist.

Jerry
