I found it, it was from the freebsd-stable list from october 1:

 The problem, which was resolved this evening, seems to be that mkisofs 
 space-pads the copyright text in the boot catalog.  If you have no 
 copyright text (like eg. the 3.2 image), it's all-0 and boots properly 
 on most systems.
