Well there certainly haven't been any alternatives so far .... but I'm hoping there are enough newbies out there who are prepared to form a group dedicated to producing some really explicit & newbie-friendly docs for stuff that causes so much grief .... I mean the likes of really basic commands (including the switches that are needed commonly rather than those that just take up space in the MAN), ppp setup, routing, and whatever else the group deems worthy of special attention.
