I wonder whether we should cleanup before netstart (or its equivalent)
is running.  I know, it's impossible to find something that will fit
every need, but not cleaning old crap like /var/run/*.pid doesn't
sound right.  (Stale PID files could be misinterpreted by some process,
since the PIDs have been recycled after a reboot.)
