Hi,

I'm using Gnome 2.32.1 on 9.1-RELEASE amd64 with ports up to date.

In Gnome's "System->Preferences->Preferred Applications" the "Mail
Reader" is selected to "Evolution Mail Reader" (the other available
application is "Thunderbird" but the same problem applies when TB is
selected).

However every "mailto" link results in Opera (browser) being launched.
Opera is configured to use the "System default" for "mailto" but looking
in Opera's preferences the "mailto" handler entry is present but the
"program" is blank. The result being that "mailto" links cannot be used.
This includes clicking an email "link" within Evolution itself - even in
a message header.

Running /usr/local/bin/xdg-email shows that it is correctly selecting
Gnome to handle the "mailto" but Gnome seems to be completely ignoring
that the "Preferred Application" is set to Evolution and instead
launching Opera.

This system has a long history of upgrades so perhaps there is some
left-over cruft that is upsetting things. In any case, can anyone
suggest how to rectify this?

Thanks,

Wayne
