I know that Guy Helmer has his eyeballs glued to the cron code at the
moment.  I'm not sure that PR 17134 (which he's looking at) relates
directly to your problem, but it's certainly worth a shot dropping him a
line, especially if you're comfortable with sending him a backtrace or
two on any coredumps you may pick up along the way. :-)
