How about a website where people can go and rate certain pieces of hardware? And throw in instructions on how they it (the hardware) up, as well as performance notes, perhaps. Something along the lines of the software compatablility page at the Wine project's website? [www.winehq.org , I think.] I think that would help people make up their minds on what to buy, as well as making it easier to answer 'does this work with freebsd?' questions.
