FWIW I have the latest ppbus patches here but haven't had time to work 
with them yet.  These split the lpt and lp stuff, which should make 
fixing them easier.  There's also a new microsequencer for complex port 
operations that should improve performance once its tweaked.

*sigh*  So much to do...  8(
