I had Xwindows up and running with FreeBSD 2.0 through 2.1. I used the upgrade proceedure on the CDrom, using a DOS partition as a buffer for the files. (My CDrom still isn't working with FreeBSD). After the installation I could not get Xwindows to come up. It usually complains that it can't find a socket (SocketUNIXConnect). I have been plowing through the book and man pages and haven't found anything that corrects the problem. I suspect it is setup on my end. Now for the strangeness. After I initiate a slip connection through a serial card to a modem Xwindows stops complaining and comes up. I would appreciate any help, pointers or direction you might be able to offer. Respectfully, RJ Howard. ******************************************** * Name: Robert J.
