I got it to compile without much pain at all

teh jxx package contains jcc
there one just need to type
"gmake freebsd"
and it should make.. (on 2.2.8)
I needed to add one line to tell it where to find the X11 include files
(in about 5 Makefiles) and it compiled without any errror messages\
(oh yeah I needed to edit the freebsd config to add "ACE_HAVE_SIGWAIT")

seems to work as advertised

julian
jx also contains a working ACE port as well..
