Suggestion:
Perhaps `man boot' & `man kernel' should give something more 
than
	No manual entry for kernel
	No manual entry for boot
If only a one line pointer to an FAQ, (wherever) that details one can do:
	sd(0,a)/kernel.my_flavour -c
