I recieve this same error with my old 4X CDROM. The eay that I was able to get around it eas to place it as slave to a hardrive for the installation. It seems that some of the bioses on older/cheaper cdroms leave them undetectable when positioned as master. When situated as slave they better bios of the hardrive makes it detectable. After installation you should be able to put it back to the original configuration with out a problem. -- Regards, Kevin G.
