Folks, I had the same problem with a Logitech KVM switch and MS mouse, and after MUCH searching, I found a fix. The details are here: http://michael.gargantuan.com/mouse.htm But the gist is that I had to set certain flags in my kernel config file and rebuild the kernel. Also, I get the following system >messages: > >psmintr: out of sync (0000 != 0008) Welcome to the club. :) This has been problematic for awhile--when I first began using FreeBSD, I diligently searched for answers on google and deja, and at one point saw that whoever was actually working on it was ready to throw up his hands in disgust (that was an older post, though, don't know about the upshot). Recompilation with the 0x800 (or was it 500, I've forgotten already) seems to have limited success (judging from much searching the web). Some folks, however have had success doing that. In general, I've found that if I have the KVM focused on the BSD box from boot up through starting X, I've then been able to switch back and forth. (Not always, however) On the other hand, I do have moused disabled--I don't know if that's a factor or not. Ironically, when I first had the trouble, I thought it was due to a lowend KVM and was going to buy a Belkin, till websearching made me realize that it wouldn't help. However--at work, I use a Belkin Omnipro (at home, a cheap Dlink something) and again, if I boot into the box while the KVM is focused on it, and start X, I'm alright. I'm using an MS optical rather than a Logitech--however, changing from optical to a normal mouse also didn't help.
