I've posted a letter to this mailing list that I can't change my passwd if
I don't type 'passwd <myusername>'. Yesterday I found out that this
situation occurs only if I wan't do it in X and not in a virtual console.
I use KDM which is a replacement of xdm to log in. If try to find out
which account I am using, in X 'logname' says that I am root while
'whoami' says that I am 'szoli' (that's my username). In a virtual console
both of them replies with the correct username. Anyone had some idea what
happened?

Sebestyen Zoltan It all seems so stupid,
it makes me want to give up.
szoli@digo.inf..elte.hu But why should I give up,
when it all seems so stupid?
